Dr. Leslie Taylor has a long history with Sequoia Health Centers. “I’ve been with Sequoia since 1995,” she said. A Fresno native, Dr. Taylor started at Sequoia in 1995. After graduating from Fresno State University, she crossed the country to attend Howard University in Washington D.C. She returned to Fresno for her residency at the outpatient clinic of Sequoia’s Elm Health Center, then joined the Sequoia faculty staff as a Family Practice medical provider in 2000. She currently works at Sequoia’s West Fresno Center.

Despite her four-year stay on the East Coast, Fresno and Sequoia are home for Dr. Taylor. “I love our patient population,” she said. “We have a committed group of providers and staff members here at Sequoia who are driven by our mission.”

That mission, to provide expert, comprehensive, culturally sensitive and affordable health care to a patient population who otherwise could not afford such care, is what Dr. Taylor strives to fulfill with every patient she sees.

When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Taylor enjoys sports and traveling, two pastimes which often go hand-in-hand. “My daughter is a cheerleader so we travel for competitions and my son plays every sport known to man so as a family we do a lot of traveling and sports.” Dr. Taylor’s husband is the assistant principal at Edison High School.

And what would be the ideal day for Dr. Taylor? After thinking for a minute, she says, “My ideal day would be spent on the beach, with a magazine.” A medical journal, perhaps? “No,” she laughs, “Probably Oprah’s magazine, O!”
